While this is all fine, more or less, I really would have liked a much bigger helping of feels all around. These guys like each other, fancy each other, hop into bed and then declare themselves boyfriends. The action-heavy plot is definitely at the centre of the book, with no real discernable relationship development. There is a lot of attraction between Parker and Nick, but to me the ‘boyfriend’ labelling came out of nowhere. We do get what is going on in the end, but I couldn’t help shouting ‘too much’ quite a few times.
The plot gets so complex with so many side threads, I could have done with a diagram to get a better overview. My head was spinning, and at times, I had no clue what was going on anymore. Particularly to Parker.īusy on characters, magical and human alike, busy on background information, busy on plot threads and busy on ideas. ) Parker and Nick ‘working together’, which basically means throwing around awesome magic to avoid getting killed.
I’m looking forward to seeing how they’ll get on in the future. ) Nick is the sensible, morally sound counterpart to Parker and who wouldn’t love him? Parker and Nick kind of click like Ying and Yang. The author throws a plethora of real problems at him, maybe a tad too much?
